about me

Welcome!

Anyone remember Krauss Department Store on Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana? I do! That is where this all began.

Growing up, I watched my Grandmother and Mother sew. They would whip up items, repair clothing, hem pants & skirts and most importantly make clothes my Barbies and baby dolls. I thought it was amazing, I dreamed of being a Wedding dress designer (same as my mother). When I turned 12 my mom decided it was time for me to learn how to use a sewing machine and alongside my best friend Allyson, we took our first sewing lessons at Krauss Department Store on Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Now that I’m all grown up and have been in various work settings and occupations, I find I get bored. Mundane, mind boggling work drives me to insanity. I am not a person who can sit still and do nothing all day long. There is a lot of energy and creativity inside of me, that not only wants but needs an outlet. So, I went back to my roots and have added a twist, in comes my new love, embroidery.

What is Jumpin’ Jobeana’s and where did that strange crazy name come from, you ask? Growing up my dad had numerous nicknames for me, so many in fact, it’s hard to list them all and honestly some I don’t even want tell. The nick name that stuck the most was Jo and Jobeana. I was a bit of a hyperactive child, so much so that my mom decided Gymnastics would get out a lot of that energy I had & it did. So, my dad added the Jumpin’ part to Jobeana.

Well, I could go on like this, but I don’t want to bore you. Here’s the dirt. I am a perfectionist and most importantly, I only want quality products to leave my door. I am all about custom items you wish to have made personally for you! I want my products to make you happy & put a smile on your face. I thrive on colorful, festive, happy things and items that “POP” out at you. Behind my creativity lies a simple, single mom pursuing the same thing most artists dream of. My love of art, sewing and embroidery has brought me here to Etsy and my own website.

Please stop by anytime to look for new and fun items, critique my work or send me a wish for personalzation. All my products come from a SMOKE & CAT FREE home. I have a Brother Entrepenuer PR650, my world of possibilities is endless.

Happy Sewing & Embroidering!
